Matt Parker has been awarded funding from the UKRI to attend a 3 months research fellowship at the Huntington Library in Los Angeles, California as part of his ongoing research
project “Our Wireless World: Sounding Out the Cultural History of Telecommunications”.
During the fellowship Matt will have access to archived letters written by Guglielmo Marconi during the period when the inventor was working on establishing transatlantic radio signals and a series of letters from M. Pilkington, a ship captain involved in laying some of the first transatlantic subsea communication cables.
