The Centre of Research in the Arts (CoRA) proudly presents a conversation and performance with Guy Davis, a two-time Grammy nominee for Best Traditional Blues. Guy is a versatile musician, actor, author, and songwriter who weaves together Roots, Blues, Folk, Rock, Rap, Spoken Word, and World Music to highlight the frustrations of social injustice, addressing historical events and everyday struggles.
The event will be hosted by renowned blues musician and chair of the European Blues Association, Michael Roach. With a deep commitment to promoting African-American culture through blues music, Michael is also known for presenting the BBC Radio 4 series Deep Blue in 2003.
Additionally, attendees can sign up for the ‘Blues in Schools’ Programme: From Work Songs to the Blues, Hip Hop, and Beyond. This educational initiative, successfully led by Michael Roach for over 35 years, brings blues music’s rich history and culture into classrooms nationwide.
