A new research study, Keeping Faith in the UK Music Industries, being undertaken at Oxford Brookes University, is exploring how musicians in the United Kingdom experience their religious identity in professional contexts, including whether they encounter accommodation or unfair treatment in their working lives.
You are invited to take part if you are aged 18 or over; have worked as a semi‐professional or professional musician earning income from musical activities at any time since 2010; have undertaken this work within the United Kingdom, and self‐identify with a religious affiliation, regardless of level of observance.
The first stage of this study is an online survey that takes no longer than 20 minutes to complete. Participation is entirely voluntary. All information you provide will be treated confidentially, stored securely, and anonymised before analysis and reporting.
By taking part, you will be contributing to one of the first comprehensive examinations of religious inclusion in the UK music industries. Your insights will play a vital role in developing evidence that will inform future policies, training, and support systems for musicians of faith.
