The 6th International Creative Industries Festival returns from Monday 23 February to Friday 27 February 2026, bringing together artists, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders under this year’s theme: From Grassroots to Governments. The festival explores how creative practice moves between community spaces and institutional frameworks, shaping cultural conversations and influencing policy landscapes.

As part of the festival programme, the Centre of Research in the Arts (CoRA) is pleased to present:

The Body is the Music is the Word

A live Q&A with Debris Stevenson (PhD Student, School of Arts), in conversation with Daniela Treveri Gennari.

Taking place on Wednesday, 25 February 2026, from 5:00–6:00 PM (GMT) at the Clerici Learning Studio, this event will explore the intersections of music, language, embodiment, and creative practice.

Debris Stevenson’s work sits at the dynamic crossroads of performance, poetry, and grime culture. In this conversation, she will reflect on creative authorship, lived experience, and the political and cultural power of voice. Together with Daniela Treveri Gennari, the discussion will consider how grassroots artistic expression travels into academic, institutional, and governmental spaces — resonating strongly with the festival’s overarching theme.

This event is open to students, researchers, creatives, and members of the public interested in contemporary creative practice and its broader social impact.

Attendance is free, but registration is required.
